Single Ceramic Poppy Display Case

This hand-built glass and wooden display case has been designed and built especially for the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red Ceramic Poppies that were on display at The Tower of London to commemorate the centenary of the 1st World War. They are made for you in my workshop in Cambridgeshire.
They measure 18D x 20W x 20H cm (external).
The plinth measures 18x18cm.
Three sides and the top are made from 2mm glass ( 2mm Perspex for those dispatched by post) and the corners are edged with pine right-angled moulding finished with a stain and then varnished, the back panel in the case displayed has a photograph supplied by the customer, the standard back is black acid free mount board.
The base surround comprises of wood moulding with an internal base. The underside of the base is covered in black felt to protect the surface the case is placed on.
The Poppy is held in place using a section of the original steel rod that was supplied with the poppy as well as the original fittings. The glass or Perspex section of the case lifts out of the base giving access to the plinth for mounting.
The first case shown above has a poem in the rear panel requested by the customer. The back would normally be plain black unless specified otherwise.
